Abstract

This study aims to analyze Food Security: Brazil's Return to the Hunger Map and Misery as a Reflection of the Discontinuation of Public Policies in the Temer to Bolsonaro Governments. The theoretical framework used is Marxist theory, which analyzes the ontological determination of social reality, as developed by Marx, implying an ethical-political position of overcoming capitalist contradictions. The analysis justifies the importance of International Relations in understanding and tackling the problem, and addresses the history of policies to combat hunger in Brazil, from progressive governments to the present day, highlighting the country's return to the Hunger Map, the influence of neoliberal capitalism and its consequences on food policies, as well as highlighting the increase in inequality and poverty due to the discontinuation of essential public policies for food and nutrition. The methodology used is qualitative and descriptive, exploring historical, political and social aspects, with a theoretical approach, cross-sectional with a longitudinal perspective and based on secondary data. In this way, the main results show the contradictions that exist in the neoliberal system, the devaluation of public policies to combat hunger, resulting in inequality and poverty among the population, the importance of International Relations, as well as the role of international organizations, the importance of the right to food and the commitment of the State in promoting healthy food for all citizens. The study helps to contribute to the development of future work and highlights the importance of maintaining the analysis of the issue of hunger as a priority, especially in International Relations.
