O Krahô na rede e a Associação Centro Cultural Kàjre

Abstract

This thesis aims to understand how the members of the Association Kàjre Cultural Center of the Krahô village Pedra Branca, in Tocantins, elaborate and performe the Krahô culture through the production of Krahô crafts and kajre.org association website. I describe the activities performed by the Association Kàjre Cultural Center and introduce the indigenous and non-indigenous actors which are part of the association. Through the analysis of the Krahô crafts and the overall content of the site, the proposal of this thesis is to demonstrate the ways by which the discourses about the appreciation of culture are objectified evoking a "culture" in terms of Manuela Carneiro da Cunha (2009). I consider that the objectification of the lived culture aspects as well as the affirmation of these own knowledge indicate that the Association Kájre Cultural Center makes the emblematic use of invisible culture (Wagner, 2012) for the demarcation of the difference and the cultural strengthening.
