O aumento da violência e os efeitos na saúde mental da população transexual: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The study addresses the impacts of violence on the mental health of the trans population, with a focus on the transsexual and transvestite community. This is an integrative review, based on secondary data, in accordance with Resolution No. 510/16 of the National Research Council. The databases consulted included BVS, SCIELO and PubMed, with descriptors in Portuguese, English and Spanish, using Boolean operators to combine terms. The articles were screened with the help of Rayyan software and Microsoft Word, using clear inclusion and exclusion criteria, in addition to the PRISMA flowchart for systematic organization. The results indicated that trans people face greater vulnerability to mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety and PTSD, due to structural transphobia and cisheteronormative norms. Violence occurs in both public and institutional spaces, such as schools, families and health services. The inefficiency of public health and safety policies aggravates exclusion and perpetuates inequalities. Although advances such as the National LGBT Health Policy are recognized, there are still significant gaps in the training of professionals and in protection against transphobia, highlighting the need for structural measures to promote the mental health and well-being of this population.
