Educação em tempo integral: Reflexões na Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Apoenan de Abreu Teixeira em Arraias-TO

Abstract

This work aims to analyze the implementation of full-time education at the Municipal School of Elementary Education Apoenan de Abreu Teixeira, in Arraias-TO, investigating the challenges faced in this process, its contributions to the formation of students and the structuring of pedagogical practices and extracurricular activities. The chosen approach was qualitative, considering the aspects of exploratory research and based on bibliographic and documentary research and, in the field, which had as an instrument and investigation technique the semi-structured interview. The research historically contextualizes integral education in Brazil, highlighting its evolution from the ideals of Anísio Teixeira to recent public policies, such as the More Education Program and the National Education Plan. From the Federal Constitution of 1988 and the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), integral education became a right, seeking to ensure the full development of the student. However, the implementation of this model faces significant challenges, such as the lack of financial resources, the need for continuing teacher training, and the adequacy of school infrastructure. The study presents the trajectory of the Apoenan de Abreu Teixeira School, which, since 2021, has adopted full-time teaching as a strategy to extend learning time and offer diversified activities. The results indicate that, despite the advances, there are still obstacles to be overcome to ensure the effectiveness of this teaching modality.
