Animais e crianças na perspectiva da educação ambiental e da inclusão

Abstract

The present study deals with the theme of the relationship between animals and children from an educational perspective. This is a bibliographical research, which was based on an integrative systematic review that covered the period from 2001 to 2022. In this way, the analysis of the selected texts allowed us to build relationships, categories and concepts based on the content of the texts and thus confirm that the interaction between children and animals can affect cognitive, emotional and social development. It was guided a priori by the observation of the serious scenario of environmental degradation on a planetary level and by the glimpse of education being potentially capable of contributing to the process of awareness - human training to face this scenario articulated on the premises of the rights of non-human animals in in line with the principles of life and responsibility (Jonas, 2006 and Medina, P, 2011). The findings of the study were organized based on theoretical frameworks, namely: environmental education, developmental psychology, childhood pedagogy and animal ethics, as a large number of studies covered animal-assisted therapy (AAT), which received a special systematization from the perspective of inclusion and examples of Brazilian experiences involving animals and children.
