Adaptação e teledramaturgia: entre as narrativas do romance As Minas de Prata e a transposição para a telenovela A Padroeira

Abstract

This paper presents the analyses of a study on the transposition of the literary text to teledramaturgy. The objectives of this research were directed to the understanding of how the connections of the genres historical novel and audiovisual telenovela materialize in the adaptation of Walcyr Carrasco's A Padroeira (2001). It is stated that José de Alencar's novel As Minas de Prata (1862) was the referent for the narrative teledramaturgical construction exhibited by Rede Globo de Televisão in the 6 PM time slot. We still seek to observe the approximations and distancements in three guiding points. The first topic is the approach to the indigenous and slave themes, the second point of analysis is the motto that works the historical characters present in both analyzed genres, and the third investigated subject is the religious issue present both in the Alencar novel and in the telenovela. The theoretical foundation of the work was permeated according to the issues worked in each chapter, thus, the research was based on Bakhtian (1990) contributions about the interactionist processes promoted by the historical novel genre. Subsequently, it is supported by Martín-Barbero's (2004) theories about audiovisual fiction, especially telenovelas, one of the most popular products in Latin America. The theorization also continues in the adaptive thesis proposed by Hutcheon (2013) and Vicente (2018), who advocates on the fidelity or not of the adapted genre in relation to the base text. Methodologically, the research is characterized as bibliographic and documental.
