O papel da mulher na conquista do território quilombola na comunidade “malhadinha” no município de Brejinho do Nazaré –TO

Abstract

The remaining quilombola community Malhadinha, located in the municipality of Brejinho de Nazaré, Tocantins is the focus of this end-of-course research. Malhadinha is approximately 100 km from the capital of Tocantins, Palmas, 25 km from Porto Nacional, and 35 km from the administrative center of Brejinho de Nazaré. We try to present a little of this remaining quilombola community in order to contribute with the vast literature that has been built about the theme. To do so, we resorted to a bibliographic review, as well as to interviews made in the community with residents who know relatives of the matriarch of the community, Ismênia. We present the narratives and some images with the intention of co-constructing other ways of looking at rural black communities.
