Abstract: Objective: To report the process of building an educational material for women who underwent the insertion of Essure® with a focus on clinical repercussions. Methodology: The process of preparing the educational material started with an organized review of the literature on Essure® and its clinical repercussions. The information collected theoretically supported the development of educational material. The search was carried out on the Virtual Health Library website. 14 articles were included. After a critical and reflective reading of them, the necessary information was collected for the construction of the educational material, where it was developed with the objective of becoming a support tool in the guidance to women who have the device. It is noteworthy that the first version was evaluated by nursing students and a specialist in the field in order to contribute to the final version, presented in this work. Results: Among the clinical repercussions presented in the 14 articles, pain was the most cited (13 articles), the majority being classified as pain during the procedure (06). Vasovagal syncope was the second most cited clinical repercussion (04). In the material construction stage, the theoretical knowledge was based on the knowledge available in the literature, with the concern to transmit the knowledge in a playful and easy to understand manner, drawing the reader's attention. So, instead of just exposing the information, it was also decided to use images so that the brochure is inviting to women. Conclusion: It is concluded that the developed leaflet is an educational material developed and has the potential to contribute to the promotion of self-care in women's health, based on the development of quality educational materials based on scientific evidence.
