O neoliberalismo e a influência na matriz hidrelétrica brasileira: o caso do estado do Tocantins

Abstract

This dissertation seeks to reflect on the neoliberal influence on the Brazilian hydroelectric matrix, especially in the state of Tocantins. This research had as general objective to analyze how neoliberalism has been influencing the hydroelectric matrix in the state of Tocantins. In order to achieve the proposed objective, answers were sought to the following questions: How is neoliberalism present in Brazil's energy matrix? How did neoliberalism set itself up in the hydroelectric sector in the state of Tocantins? In order to achieve the answer to the problem of research, analyzes were made of the process of accumulation of capital, such as primitive accumulation and despoliation, also about the influence of neoliberal ideas and the formation of neoimperialism and the neoliberal influence in the Brazilian hydroelectric energy sector and its legacy in the construction of large hydroelectric enterprises in the state of Tocantins. The main focus is the neoliberal influence on the tocantinense hydroelectric matrix, after 1990, which was analyzed using bibliographic references about the theme. The result achieved was that in the great enterprises of the hydroelectric sector of the Tocantins there is strong neoliberal influence.
