Abstract: The objective of the present work was to analyze the diameter and volume estimated by the Original and Modified Relative Height Method, in comparison to the corresponding ones obtained through the sampling of sample trees in Khaya senegalensis stands. The comparisons were analyzed based on the lower mean percentage error (EMP), the lower square root of the mean square error (RQEM), the higher multiple linear correlation between estimated values and the observed values of the dependent variable (ryoye%), lower Bias (Bias%), graphical analysis of the residue and the accuracy determined by the chi-square test (χ2) with significance level of 0.05 (P%). The adjustment of the taper and volumetric models were evaluated based on the highest The original method, with the angular coefficient of the line defined by the i-th interval in the j-th sample tree (CARij) and with a slope coefficient of the mean straight (CARi), was more efficient than the modified method, whereas the mean CAR improved almost all the analyzed statistics. The Schöfer model (1966) was the most efficient to estimate the diameters along the shaft. and adjustment graphs with real data were similar to the adjustment with data estimated by the Original and Modified Relative Height Methods. As for volume, the original method was more efficient in estimating the individual volume using CARij. The modified method showed superiority when the CARi was used. The adjustments of the volumetric models resulted in similar and satisfactory statistics, and it was concluded that the Relative Height Method is efficient to generate data that could be used in the adjustment of models.
