Intelectuais midiáticos: relações entre os campos intelectual e jornalístico em veículos impressos do Brasil

Abstract

This work aims to understand and analyze the dynamics of interaction between the Intellectual and Journalistic fields from the publications of intellectuals published in the newspapers O Estado de São Paulo, O Globo, Folha de São Paulo and Valor Econômico. Methodological procedures of Content Analysis and Framing Analysis were used with the purpose of identifying the frequency of publications and analyzing categories and frameworks attributed to the texts of these subjects. The Manifestations of June 2013 were used as a temporal and thematic clipping for the analysis of the positions of the intellectuals. Bibliographic research was used to deal with the structures and functions of the two fields, as well as to point out reflections about the emergence of media intellectuals, indicated by some theorists, as a new category of performance of these subjects. The results point to different poles of action of the intellectuals within the Journalistic Field. It has been found that in parts some intellectuals distance themselves from the universal values and principles that characterize them as classic, critical, and engaged intellectuals, in that they approximate their positions to homogenous discourses, similar to those of the political class. Others, in turn, present heterogeneity in the positioning, distancing themselves from the positions of politicians and also among the peers themselves. The present study indicates a configuration of subfield among the media intellectuals, a diversity of representations in the journalistic universe, as well as contributes to the reflection on the function of the intellectuals in the processes of interaction with the mass media.
