| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | A violência contra a mulher é um problema social grave e recorrente no Brasil. A mídia ao atuar no processo de socialização pode influenciar tanto na propagação da violência quanto no combate dela. No que tange a violência contra a mulher, uma cobertura jornalística inadequada pode acarretar na intensificação deste tipo de violência. A presente dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a cobertura jornalística da violência contra a mulher no Jornal do Tocantins entre os anos de 2015 e 2017. Para atender a proposta, esta pesquisa foi realizada com base na literatura, buscando recortes teóricos com o intuito de apresentar os conceitos gerais de violência, violência contra a mulher e violência na mídia. Ainda, foi realizado o procedimento da pesquisa documental e análise de conteúdo. Os resultados apontaram que os casos de violência contra a mulher com maior gravidade ou repercussão, chegam à mídia e que o jornalismo tem o papel fundamental de fomentar as discussões sobre esta temática, porém, está longe de contribuir para o avanço na igualdade entre os gêneros partindo de uma produção de notícias na perspectiva de direitos. |
| Abstract: | Violence against women is a serious and recurring social problem in Brazil. The media acting in the process of socialization can influence both the spread of violence and its combat. With regard to violence against women, inadequate journalistic coverage can lead to an intensification of this type of violence. The present dissertation aims to analyze the journalistic coverage of violence against women in Jornal do Tocantins between the years 2015 and 2017. In order to meet the proposal, this research was carried out based on the literature, seeking theoretical references in order to present the general concepts of violence, violence against women and media violence. Also, the procedure of documentary research and content analysis was carried out. The results showed that the cases of violence against women with greater severity or repercussion reach the media and that journalism has the fundamental role of fomenting discussions on this issue, but it is far from contributing to the advancement of gender equality starting from a production of news in the perspective of rights. |
