A suça como identidade e tradição no território Kalunga do mimoso no município de Arraias-TO

Abstract

This qualitative social research, entitled: The Suça as identity and tradition in the Kalunga do Mimoso Territory in the Municipality of Arraias, TO, was born from the concerns of the researcher who comes from this community where she spent much of her life immersed in the collective life of the Kalunga do Mimoso community. Its general objective is to analyze how the suça favors the maintenance of the cultural tradition of the Kalunga do Mimoso quilombola community. Regarding the specific objectives, we list: I) to know the historical path of the Kalunga do Mimoso quilombola community; II) to investigate the suça as an identity instrument of the Kalunga do Mimoso community; III) to understand how the suça reinforces the unity of the group that participates in community life. In establishing these objectives, the research raises the following problem question: how important is the suça for the maintenance of the cultural tradition of the Kalunga do Mimoso quilombola community, located in the municipality of Arraias, TO? We conducted semi-structured interviews with people from the community, who pointed out the importance of Suça as an essential cultural manifestation for the maintenance and resistance of community life. We sought relevant authors to dialogue with the research and with popular culture, so that we could carry out the pedagogical praxis and provide answers to the concerns that arose during the research
