Diálogos interculturais em saúde mental: uma análise fílmica de chuva é cantoria na aldeia dos mortos e a atuação da psicologia junto aos povos indígenas

Abstract

This article is a qualitative study that aimed to address the relationship between psychology and indigenous peoples, using film analysis of the movie "The Dead and The Others" and bibliographical research. Based on the analyses, it was possible to address the conceptions of health and illness in indigenous communities, which permeate the physical sphere, encompassing spiritual and social aspects, requiring culturally sensitive approaches that depart from the logic and Western culture common to psychology. Mourning, the central theme of the film, is also addressed, being seen as a process of passing to the village of the dead, carried out through the end of mourning party. The article emphasizes the need to respect indigenous cosmovisions and adopt intercultural approaches for an effective and empathetic psychology with indigenous peoples, respecting each ethnic group and their ways of living and thinking about the world.
