Tradições culturais quilombolas: a Folia de Cipó nos Festejos de São João Batista Comunidade Sucuri, Kalunga de Monte Alegre de Goiás

Abstract

This research deals with Quilombola Cultural Traditions, especially the Folia de Cipó, known as Festejos de São João Batista Comunidade Sucuri, Kalunga de Monte Alegre de Goiás. Its main objective was: “to understand quilombola culture, its traditions, rites and meanings and how people belonging to the community and tourists are related to these important cultural heritages, thus presenting this important cultural manifestation, represented by the feelings of belonging of the Kalunga people. From this perspective, promote reflection on the part of the community and the school about teaching capable of awakening in young people and guardians the ability to rethink their attitudes towards participation and preservation of the aforementioned celebration. The theme arose from the problem: “why are most residents and tourists failing to participate in the Folia de Cipó of the Festejo de São João Batista in the Sucuri - Kalunga Community of Monte Alegre de Goiás? Given the issue addressed, there is the hypothesis that it is due to the fact that during the festivities there are several leisure and entertainment options and some of the youth really enjoy experiencing this. However, in the field research this question was answered in such a way that there is not much distancing on the part of young people and tourists from the festival, but there is a concern to work on reflection on the problem to prevent the tradition from being affected in the future due to lack of participation from the community. community, especially young people.
