Análise da Viabilidade Econômica da Exploração Apícola na Região de Araguaína- TO.

Abstract

In Brazil, beekeeping is considered as an important agricultural activity, because create jobs and increases the income of familiar agriculture. Seeing the potential of beekeeping in the Tocantins State, Brazil. This study aimed at evaluate the economic viability of apiaries in Araguaína-TO. The evaluation of the economic viability of beekeeping was carried out in two steps. The first consisted of the know the prices of the equipment and utensils necessary for the implementation for one apiary with 50 hives in the first implementation year, with 400 hives in the third year. The second consisted the tools for planning a project to analyze the economic viability of beekeeping, where was calculated through a cash flow with and without financing were obtained the indicators: net present value (NPV), the cost-benefit ratio and internal rate of return (IRR). To assess the risk of the activity the methodology sensitivity was performed to verify the project is sensitive to changes in input prices and product and consequently the costs and revenues. It was found that in the normal situation with and without financing the results were favorable. The benefits of the project was higher the costs, the indicator shows the benefit the cost-benefit ratio (C/B) was higher than one (1,14), the indicator net present value (NPV) was positive (R$ 55.741,63) and the internal rate of return (IRR) was higher than minimum attractiveness rate (MAR) (10% per year).
