Violência Política De Gênero: Debate Para Construção De Democracias Paritárias

Abstract

Throughout the history of the world women have fought for their rights and specifically in International Relations women still fight for the recognition of their contributions in the area. In the 21st century, women find themselves in a position of mimicry to be respected, impose their position and show their relevance. Even with gender equality policies, there is still a very large inequality between the sexes in terms of political representation. Even expanding access to these places, and no longer being prevented from participating in politics, women tend to face attacks and end up not participating in formal politics, as there is a great impediment. The political environment, with a sexist and patriarchal tradition, tends to induce exclusion, disbelief, disqualification, stereotyping, standardization, and even the defamation of women present in this environment. The place of power (public politics) does not seem to belong to women, it is what can be called political gender violence systemic practices that aim to exclude women from the political sphere. These practices are increasingly recognized around the world, and international organizations are aware of their existence and recognize the need to build new imaginaries and realities that allow for the generation of concrete routes of transformation, through institutional measures and reforms. In this work it will be approached - in addition to the concepts and debates about gender violence - how it happens in practice. Through a bibliographical analysis, including reports, photos and film, the violence will be shown in the scope of the heads of states of the United Kingdom, represented by Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013); Philippines, for Corazon Aquino (1933-2009); Costa Rica, by Laura Chinchilla (1959- ); and Finland, by Sanna Marin (1985- ). Understanding that in international politics the predominance of men in the political space is perceptible, Judith Ann Tickner and Cynthia Enloe will be authors who have added the argumentation and explanation of this work, since the approach to international politics established by them proposes to see women and the relations of power present in that medium. In this perspective, this work uses a bibliography that is mostly female, so that topics like this, which are related to women, are debated by those who understand them closely, women.
