A intergeracionalidade por meio da contação de histórias na Universidade da Maturidade da Universidade Federal do Tocantins

Abstract

This Master’s research is about the representativeness of myths, legends and superheroes in the life of the elders of University of Maturity UFT-UMA. The general objective is to understand the memory of the old through the narratives of legends, myths and superheroes in the voices of the old of the U.S.A., their representativeness in the lives of these scholars and the link between the present and the past, which unfolds in the following specific objectives: i) identify through oral narratives the myths, legends and superheroes of the elders of the U.S.A.; ii) understand how the oral narrative can contribute to the self-esteem of the old and bring the feeling of belonging; iii) understand how oral narrative can be a tool for intergenerational education. The study involved 34 academics enrolled in the year 2019 of the University of Maturity - UMA of the Federal University of Tocantins of the Palmas campus. The data were collected through interview, it is a research of applied nature and qualitative approach. As a result, it can be pointed out that the narratives are related to childhood, family coexistence and affective relationships with parents, siblings and relatives. They also relate to people who have transformed their lives. The old bare a great range of feelings, in the vast majority, good feelings of moments when parents became present in the lives of their children and families, in these moments of storytelling accomplished, rely on myths, legends and superheroes to pass on to their children teachings of a set of values and meanings, cultures. In a few narratives, profound marks of situations felt as abandonment were evidenced, wounds that opened up in childhood, which through memory were rescued, revealed, were there. They reveal that heroes can be ordinary people who are part of everyday life, parents, friends, teachers and others who reveal characteristics and moral and ethical values that they greatly admire. They point to UMA teachers as their heroes, now in old age, because they appear with important role in their lives. They identify with superheroes who reveal their human side, even with superpowers, common feelings of the human being, sorrows, fears, anguish and joys, their personal conflicts. It has been found that oral narratives can propel the protagonism, bring the feeling of belonging, which contributes to increase the self-esteem of the old, because by narrating it becomes the main character, carries with it accounts of a past time, that transmute significantly to the present.
