dc.description.abstract	The aim of this paper is to analyze the spatial behavior of the Land Surface Temperature (LST) on the urban area of Palmas, Tocantins State, Brazil, using thematic maps generated from the Landsat 8 products. The methodological path consisted in the use of satellite images in the Landsat 8 thermal bands, during August and December of 2015 to 2017, which were processed in free softwares such as SPRING (Georeferenced Information Processing System) and QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System). Atmospheric correction procedures were performed on the platforms and the values of LST were returned. The results presented variations between 20.5ºC and 34.5ºC for August and from 14.5ºC to 19.5ºC for December, except for the year 2015, when the temperatures of this last month ranged between 24.5ºC and 31.5°C. Places such as Cesamar Park and Parque dos Povos Indígenas stand out for having a vast green area, presenting lower values of surface temperature and getting more visible features in August. Although the soccer stadium, airport and road show temperature variations from 16.5ºC to 18.5ºC in December 2016, the maximum peaks of temperature, (19ºC to 19.5ºC) occurred in the industrial area, in the central portion of the analyzed cut, next to 712 Sul and 812 Sul, and in the blocks to the north, in the vicinity of the Parque dos Povos Indígenas.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o mapeamento da Temperatura da Superfície Continental (Land Surface Temperature - LST) na área urbana de Palmas/TO, através de mapas temáticos gerados a partir dos produtos Landsat 8. O caminho metodológico consistiu no uso de imagens de satélite nas bandas termais do Landsat 8, nos meses de agosto e dezembro de 2015 a 2017, onde foram processadas em softwares livres como SPRING (Sistema de Processamento de Informações Georreferenciadas) e QGIS (Quantum Geographic Information System). Nas plataformas foram realizados os procedimentos de correção atmosférica e retornado valores de LST. Os resultados apresentaram variações de 20,5ºC a 34,5ºC para o mês de agosto e de 14,5ºC a 19,5ºC para o mês dezembro, com exceção do ano de 2015, quando as temperaturas deste último mês variaram entre 24,5ºC e 31,5ºC. Locais como Parque Cesamar e Parque dos Povos Indígenas se destacam por possuírem uma vasta área verde, apresentando valores inferiores de temperatura de superfície e obtendo feições mais visíveis no mês de agosto. Apesar do estádio de futebol, aeroporto e a rodoviária apresentarem variações de temperaturas de 16,5ºC a 18,5ºC em dezembro de 2016, os picos máximos de temperatura, (19ºC a 19,5ºC) ocorreram na área industrial, na porção central do recorte analisado, próximo as quadras 712Sul e 812Sul, e nas quadras ao norte, nos arredores do Parque dos Povos Indígenas.	pt_BR
