dc.description.abstract	This paper discusses the implementation of the Araguaia/Tocantins waterways and improving the existing infrastructure, the main objectives: to identify the potential of the waterway, to analyze your apparatus for transporting loads, to identify its socio-economic impacts and analyze the potential of the infrastructure existing. The nature of the research, this paper resorted to literature and documentary research. As the results could be concluded that the implementation of the waterway becomes feasible when we analyze all the advantages that it will bring to society as a whole, it is a competitive advantage for existing industries in the region. Moreover, it will attract the installation of large industries, creating jobs and economic development to the region. As to the existing infrastructure, the same is of great importance to waterway, because it able for interconnect the modal, and the improvement in its infrastructure will maximize the potential of the waterway and its region.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	O presente artigo trata da implantação da Hidrovia Araguaia Tocantins e melhoria na infraestrutura já existente, tendo como objetivo geral: analisar os potenciais da hidrovia,e objetivos específicos: identificar o seu aparato para o transporte de cargas, verificar a sua viabilidade e analisar o potencial da infraestrutura já existente. Quanto à natureza da pesquisa, este trabalho recorreu à pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Quanto aos resultados pôde concluir-se que a implantação da hidrovia se torna viável quando são analisadas todas as vantagens que a mesma trará a sociedade como um todo, sendo um diferencial competitivo para as indústrias já existentes na região. Além disso, irá atrair a instalação de grandes indústrias, gerando empregos e desenvolvimento econômico para a região. Quanto à infraestrutura já existente, a mesma é de suma importância para a hidrovia, pois já consegue interligar os modais, e com a melhoria na sua infraestrutura irá maximizar os potenciais da hidrovia e de sua região.	pt_BR
