Abstract

Education is a determining factor in the knowledge process of the world and of itself, the present research is fruit of the restlessness in knowing the historical fight of the settlers of the Project of Settlement Santa Cruz II, the same dealt so much of the conquest of the so dreamed earth for as well as the implantation of a school unit where the children could learn, it was emphasized the rescue of the constitution of the municipal school unit Silvino Rodrigues Costa. However, he also sought information on the struggle, conquest and maintenance of Fr. A through the accounts of the life experiences of the residents who lived through this period. It was also used written documents, and a vast bibliographical reference the search for the information for the accomplishment of this research sought to follow a methodological apparatus that entrusted to him the scientific profile required in the academy. As for the methodology used, bibliographical research, technical visits and observation were carried out, the data collection instruments used were open interviews and informal conversations. Finally, the data collected showed that the school has a historical importance for the community, and the struggle for its implementation is sometimes confused with the struggle for land conquest.
